Choosing a coach is all about chemistry so what can I possibly tell you in a short directory entry that will convey whether I am the coach you are looking for? My background is as a change agent - managing staff and steering programmes through periods of turbulence successfully and in a positive atmosphere. This always required a coaching style of management and I have morphed into a coach over my thirty years in business. I believe in unity and harmony and have a track record of resolving conflicts and getting people to work together using their natural strengths.
There are three areas of coaching that I can illustrate with success stories. Firstly team building. I have been described as a ‘team maker’ and believe that the critical aspects are creating a common purpose and allowing everyone to perform to their strengths and be true to their own styles and personalities. I have worked with varied teams including senior police officers, community nurses and a catering company.
Secondly individual personal effectiveness. I have coached people in anger management, career development, getting through a series of tough job interviews and getting the right work/life balance. One client tells me I saved her marriage!
Thirdly I can help with identifying strategic direction. I have considerable experience in strategic and business planning and know how to help you find a way through seemingly conflicting priorities, demanding stakeholders and a mountain of information. I have particular experience in helping people define their strategic direction with a view to identifying long term space requirements. I have done this for a law school, an airline and a group of allied health professionals.
The common denominator is my desire to find a way through the maze with you – to create order out of chaos.
